Update on Contact Information
more than likely if you are reading this blogspot, you have internet access... which usually means, you have an email address! wonderful!
as we just recently ended FIESTA 2008......this means that BASAYNON KATIG-UBAN has more work to do.... with administrative issues, updates, planning, and executing them!
we are trying to get the most up to date contact information from all members. so we know how to get a hold of each and every single one of these members, and basically those who still want to continue to receive information from the organization to reduce the WASTE OF PAPER, STAMPS, COST, etc!
Please Send us the following:

and the most important part... if you would like to continue receiving communication from the organization! YES or NO!
this is very important so that we can continue reaching out to BASAYNONS that want to hear from other BASAYNONS, and stop filling up the mailboxes for those who are no longer interested! (Don't worry, we won't take it personally, this actually will be a BIG help for us!!!)
so please, email us those contact information, and if its still the same, send it to us anyways, we might have an old address and we're assuming you never moved! this is another great way to double check on information! we are reaching out to all OLD and NEW katig-uban members!

Balita Basaynon- Patron Issue
Hello Basaynons!
We would like to invite any Basaynon to contribute for the up and coming Balita Basaynon #3.
If you have any write ups, announcements, literary works....that you would like to share with your fellow Basaynons, here is an invitation!
Balita Basaynon#3 will be the Patron Issue, so it only makes sense to put together a newsletter with contributions from different Basaynons!

Church Improvement
Here are some pictures taken for an update on the Basey Church Improvement Project, it has been reported that only 2 more windows are left to be installed, and the workers are doing any last minutes touches. If your fortunate enough to go back to Basey for this year's Patron, you'll be able to witness the final results of the on-going church improvement project. For the rest of us, here are pictures of our dear St. Michael the Archangel Parish Church.

FAQ (frequently asked questions) about dues:
1. who do I give my dues to?
A. you can pay your dues to the Treasurer (Carolina Gad- Young)
B. or if you're a west coast member, you can pay your VP- West Coast (Aleta Yu-Chan)
either way you choose, it goes to the Katig-Uban Fund
2. I didn't attend this year's fiesta
we all know and understand that we can't always make the fiesta, thats why we have reminders like this blog entry to remind you that its that time of year to pay your annual dues! so this is your reminder =)
3. who do i make my check out to?
The Katig-uban accepts most forms of payment, for the time being: cash, check, and money order are your 3 options. We recommend cash, if you'll be giving your dues in person. Check and money orders are paid out to : BASAYNON KATIG-UBAN USA/CANADA, or simply BASAYNON KATIG-UBAN
4. how much do i have to pay?
This year's annual dues are $10.00/ individual and $20.00 for (immediate) family
Please note that effective JANUARY 2009, membership fees are $15.00/ individual and $30.00 for (immediate) family. *** the new rates was voted on at the 2008 General Meeting.
5. I haven't been paying my dues, what do i do?
The Katig-uban believes in an honor system, if you haven't paid since, lets say 2005, your membership dues has been up for 3 years. We will gladly accept your dues from the past years. (Don't worry, we won't charge interest!)
6. I always forget to pay!
You don't have to wait for any Katig-Uban officers to remind you, if you want to just pay off your membership fees in increments of every 3 years, so that you can just pay everytime there are new officers, then you can go ahead and pay your dues, good for the next three years. Just know that the new rates will apply for any future payments made now.
7. What good will my dues have?
Every little bit counts. Just know that your membership fees is what makes the Katig-uban possible, our little organization, home away from home. Membership dues are set aside in the Katig-Uban account, and is not mixed in with any fundraising amounts, donations, etc. Membership dues are revolving, and helps create a stable savings account for the Katig-uban.

Website!
Basaynon Katig-uban will soon and rightfully gain its own website (recently approved at the 2008 General Meeting)... with no pop-ups or adds.... ! This is definitely good news for all Basaynons.. advance congratulations to Mano Boy Vilches, we're sure that the NEW & IMPROVED website will be a success and will be a wonderful and added portal to communicating with Basaynons all over the world!
